Experienced Design Team
Mikron has extensive experience in providing advanced product designs for energy efficiency and structural performance. It's based on a long history and servicing the widest customer base in the vinyl window & door industry.
In the early 1970's, Mikron was one of the original companies to lead the development of the National Fenestration Rating Counsel (NFRC), helping to pioneer development of more energy efficient windows and doors through U Value simulation testing. This Simulation testing ensures energy efficiency is designed into the product from the beginning.
North America is a large and varying area with different regional performance and building code requirements - and Mikron has many proven success-stories of designing product systems that meet structural and energy efficiency requirements in every region.
We use a rigorous process of design, Finite Element Analysis modeling, and prototype testing to confirm the structural capabilities of products before they are released to our window and door fabricator customers. Products are tested in-house and at independent labs for air and water infiltration, thermal and structural performance. Products can also be tested to meet regional sound transmission and impact requirements.
We also design efficient fabrication processing into all of our product systems. Mikron designs individual profiles to not only meet functional performance requirements, but also to achieve efficient fabrication and assembly process costs. We consider Manufacturing equipment and plant layout requirements. And, we take it a step further to ensure production efficiency by training customer plant personnel at the start-up of all new production.
