History	Mikron was founded in 1969 by two entrepreneurs working out of their garage. They took their combined experience in the plastics industry with streamlined dies and married this experience to European vacuum calibration made from stainless steel, deciding to specialize in the rapidly growing window industry by manufacturing PVC extrusions for window manufacturers. In 2004 Mikron became part of the Quanex Building Products group, which offers the backing of a multi-billion dollar company and the synergy of the Quanex Building Products group of companies.
